New Post: How to disable left, right, top and bottom drop targets while docking document in layoutDocumentPane

Am I understanding this correctly, you want to be able to float a Document but only allow snap back to a tabbed document, not to the anchorable sides?

From what I have seen in the source, the code always sets the drop targets as visible unless using mixed orientiantion and then it decides based upon the orientation. However, that would still get you top/bottom or side/side. Using a template wouldn't help because the code would override the template from what I've seen.

So, I think your best bet would be modifying the OverlayWindow to decide when you want to see the overlays and when you don't (and you may need to find a way to filter the settings through from your layoutitems). Of course, I could be missing something at a different level that overrides this, but I suspect currently, there is no property to say which ones you actually want as it's assumed you always want at least some of the anchorables.
